SERVERS - all aspects of front-of-house customer service: welcoming and seating guests, taking orde rs, communicating with the kitchen, food and beverage service, sales and operation of cash register/credit card system, etc.
COOK/KITCHEN: preference for persons with at least one year experience working in a small restaurant, or similar environment. Duties may include food prep, cooking, and finishing dishes to order, set-up and clean-up of kitchen, and tracking food inventories, etc. We're looking for energetic people who love food (especially vegetables, vegetarian, and Indian food), and who enjoy the art and work involved in producing and presenting exceptional quality. This is a great opportunity to learn about Indian vegetarian cooking methods and ingredients.
Applicants must have a current food handler's card (Seattle, King County Health Department). Send us a resume, and tell us why you'd like to work here. Email your resume directly to firstname.lastname@example.org, or drop it off at the restaurant. Promising candidates will be contacted to arrange an interview.
We are a diverse and welcoming establishment that does not discriminate in hiring because we believe that diversity is a benefit in itself (good for business, good for the community). Like other small restaurants we offer a meager base wage plus tips. Because we all work harder when we are busy, we do a "full-house split" of tips -- equal share to all (front and back of the house). Pay for this position will be based on experience, to some extent. Don't expect to get rich. The goal is fair pay, a better than average work environment, and making something we can be proud of - great food and a welcoming place for our customers. If you want to be a part of that, let us know!
